MY Breaktrhough
Sometimes when you are in trouble , you tend to look at your situation and not God.
You realize that there is no hope and spiral down into a well of unmeaningful sorrow and try to end your life.
I”ve learned today three major things
1.that we should not look at our situations but instead to the hope that we have in Christ, focus on God’s word. This is how Jesus lived and confronted the enemy.
Matt 4:4- But He answered and said,“It is written, Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God”
Here Satan tempts Jesus with one of the most important things to mankind- Food. Everyone eats food. You may find some who do not really mind living without shelter or clothing, but you surely cant live without food, can ya?
So he says this to Him “If you are the Son Of God, tell these stones to become bread”
ii.Satan takes the obvious and twists it to tempt you. So to you it seems that yes, I am the Son Of God, I can do this. But if we turn towards the Word of God we can see a fitting answer, the same one that Jesus gave lucy baby.
2. Hunger for Miracles.
I believe that my God is not a dead God, he lives today and is very active all over the earth. Let me explain even as we turn to the beginning of God’s word in Gen 1:2 it says that “..the spirit of God hovered around the waters.” God is there on earth as he is omnipresent. But he works only where there is faith. A lot of people ask me “If God exists then why doesn’t he heal the sick everywhere, why is there suffering, why is there death among two year olds and younger, why do people hunger?”
The asnwer is simple, its not that God is blind or doesnt care or that he has entered into a treaty with Satan to the effect “lets torture mankind, its a game”NO.
God simply says in his word that all things are possible to him who believes.
e.g from the Word- A desperate father whose son is demon possessed turns to the disciples for help. But when Jesus own couldnt help he turns to Jesus. Mark 9: 22-23 “And it has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us. And Jesus said to him, “If you can! All things are possible to him who believes. “
Clearly Jesus knew of this man’s problems. He could have simply said “Go your son is healed”But lets see what Jesus did.
It says in v24 Immediately the boy’s father cried out and said, “I do believe; help my unbelief.”
25When Jesus saw that a crowd was rapidly gathering, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You deaf and mute spirit, I command you, come out of him and do not enter him again.”
26After crying out and throwing him into terrible convulsions, it came out; and the boy became so much like a corpse that most of them said, “He is dead!”
27But Jesus took him by the hand and raised him; and he got up.
28When He came (R)into the house, His disciples began questioning Him privately, “Why could we not drive it out?”
29And He said to them, “This kind cannot come out by anything but prayer.”
The disiples were met by a challenge. But they couldnt confron the challenge as they wern’t prepared by it. Jesus was.
So there you go. God works by faith. Not by need. If he did, we would find God in the most horrible places on earth, e.g the hospital. In fact that institution wouldnt exist at all.
There is also one more explanation why God doesnt not heal or does not take the troubled out. Its because they do not seek him. I will explain this in a later post as this is getting too long.
3. Step out boldly.
Acts4:13 Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.
I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me.
